Children have little say in what we give them. Most of us have sat a child down in front of the TV or fobbed them off with a toy, when what they really wanted was our attention.
Allowing kids to play creatively may be the one gift that we are least prepared to give. When it is our time that is needed, we always manage to find excuses for withholding it.
Yet children need constructive play to develop their motor skills and imaginations. How can we expect them to do great things when we teach them to do nothing?
Starting Art is about bringing children's creative talents to the surface. It is about interactive and imaginative play. About learning to draw and paint. About crafting and building. And about having fun as a group.
